Partnership for the Future: MOF Krosno municipalities join forces in the Swiss-Polish project

The municipalities of the Krosno Functional Urban Area – Jedlicze, Korczyna, Krościenko Wyżne, Miejsce Piastowe, Wojaszówka and Chorkówka – have signed partnership agreements. This marks an important stage in the preparations for the joint implementation of the project entitled Our Krosno: Green, Entrepreneurial, and Co-managed with Residents funded under the Swiss-Polish Cooperation Programme.

The project was developed as a partnership between the local authorities of the Krosno MOF. As part of the Comprehensive Project Proposal, which has been drawn up and approved and covers six thematic areas—such as vocational and specialist education and training, funding for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, public transport, nature conservation and biodiversity, health and social care, and civic engagement and transparency, the partners have identified the tasks to be implemented in their respective areas.

The planned activities focus on two thematic areas: vocational and specialist education and training, and funding for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises.

Partners from the Functional Urban Area will be involved in activities to strengthen the economic sector. The project takes into account recommendations submitted by the Krosno Business Council and ideas developed jointly during workshops attended by representatives of local authorities, schools, young people and parents.

Today (12 March), during the conference, the documents were signed by the mayors of the MOF municipalities, with the countersignature of the treasurers.

In Krosno and the municipalities of the Krosno Municipal Area (MOF), career guidance will be strengthened by:

  • equipping all schools with modern teaching aids to support pupils in choosing a career path and providing pupils with individual guidance,
  • organising visits for pupils to local businesses to familiarise young people with the specifics of various professions and encourage them to plan their careers within the MOF Krosno area,
  • organising meetings with representatives of interesting professions in schools,
  • involving parents in the career guidance process (meetings with experts and local entrepreneurs),
  • attractive extracurricular activities at the Youth Activity Centre, focusing on self-awareness, motivation, developing soft skills, navigating the job market and challenging stereotypes about the local labour market,
  • the organisation of Education Fairs, showcasing the range of secondary schools to primary school pupils and encouraging them to pursue vocational training,
  • the implementation of a campaign encouraging children and young people to pursue training in professions in demand on the local labour market,
  • further training for career counsellors.

Furthermore, a key element of the project is the promotion of vocational education in schools in Krosno, including through the purchase of specialist equipment, paid work placements in local companies, and incentive grants for students training in vocational trades. Another element of the project in which MOF partners will be involved relates to the broad support of entrepreneurship.

The Krosno Business Incubator and all schools within the Municipal Functional Area will see the creation of creativity workshops – spaces equipped with modern equipment and teaching aids, where the soft skills needed by future entrepreneurs will be developed. These will be spaces conducive to personal development and inspiring young people to take on new challenges.

In addition, the Krosno Business Incubator will run a range of initiatives aimed at supporting entrepreneurs, particularly those just starting out. These will include a support programme for start-ups, a permanent information and advisory point for entrepreneurs, and a series of networking events.

Economic activities will also include a programme to strengthen local consumer patriotism, promoting local producers and service providers. An important element of this will be Christmas markets promoting craftspeople and artists from the Krosno Metropolitan Area, planned for implementation in cooperation with non-governmental organisations

The signing of partnership agreements strengthens cooperation between local authorities and clarifies the rules governing the implementation of the project. The signing of the project co-financing agreement is scheduled for 19 March 2026 in Jarosław.

The project Our Krosno: Green, Entrepreneurial, and Co-managed with Residents co-financed by the Swiss Contribution to the reduction of economic and social disparities in the European Union and the national budget.
