Krosno receives funding from the Swiss Funds!

This is one of the most significant milestones for the development of our town! On 19 March 2026, Krosno signed a grant agreement in Jarosław for a project under the Swiss-Polish Cooperation Programme.

The value of the funding secured for the project entitled ‘Our Krosno: Green, Entrepreneurial and Co-managed with Residents’ amounts to 77 473 087,00 zł, which represents a significant boost to development and opens up new investment opportunities for the town – ranging from the development of the local economy and improvements to the quality of the environment to new opportunities for residents.

The project, with a total value of 82 773 775,00 zł, is co-financed from funds under the Second Round of Swiss Financial Assistance for selected European Union Member States and from the state budget as part of the Swiss-Polish Cooperation Programme.

Thanks to these funds, a comprehensive project will be implemented in Krosno, covering key areas of the town’s operations: education, vocational training and specialist training; Funding for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises; Public transport; Nature conservation and biodiversity; Health and social care; Civic engagement and transparency, including the following activities:

Action 1. "Krosno: a town of talent – preparing the workforce with the skills needed in the local labour market". This involves the development of modern vocational and specialist training, closely aligned with the needs of local employers. In practice, this means, among other things, new education and training programmes, cooperation between schools and businesses, and support for young people in acquiring the skills of the future.

Action 2. "Entrepreneurship as Krosno’s superpower – stimulating and supporting the development of local business". This action directs support towards micro, small and medium-sized enterprises and includes, amongst other things, access to finance and development tools, support for innovation and new investments, and the creation of better conditions for doing business. Providing economic education for young people and those starting a business through training, advice, the promotion of entrepreneurship, and the fostering of local consumer patriotism. New businesses will be established, and the number of jobs available on the local labour market will increase. A grant fund will be set up for NGOs to stimulate local consumer patriotism.

Action 3. "Development of zero-emission transport within the Krosno Functional Urban Area". This involves investment in zero-emission vehicles, the development of transport infrastructure and improved transport accessibility through the purchase of electric buses, thereby reducing exhaust emissions. This will improve air quality and public health, and strengthen the cohesion of the Functional Urban Area by facilitating access to education, work and services.

Action 4. “Our green and breathable town”. This involves the development of green spaces to improve air quality and resilience to climate change, and will create spaces for residents’ activities and integration. Green bus stops will be created and work will be carried out to promote biodiversity and water retention. Pro-environmental initiatives will increase residents’ sense of responsibility for the environment. A grant fund will be established for NGOs to support pro-environmental activities.

Action 5. “Improving access to medical services for the residents of Krosno”. This involves implementing health policy programmes focused on the prevention of depressive disorders among children and young people, as well as medical rehabilitation for residents of Krosno aged 65 and over. Psychological support will enhance the developmental potential of young people, reducing the risk of emotional problems. Rehabilitation and access to rehabilitation equipment will enable older people to lead active lives, reducing their dependence on care from relatives. A grant fund will be established for NGOs to carry out tasks aimed at improving the physical and mental health of residents.

Action 6. "Increasing the social engagement of Krosno’s residents". This is based on strengthening social ties and residents’ participation in the life of the town through the implementation of local initiatives and integration activities, as well as the development of social dialogue. A Centre for Social Activity and a grant fund for NGOs will be established, increasing the involvement of organisations and residents in decision-making concerning the town. This action will strengthen social cohesion, ties with the town and the attractiveness of Krosno as a place to live.

The implementation of these measures will contribute to economic growth, improve the quality of life and strengthen Krosno’s development potential.

This is an initiative for the future – a modern, green and resident-friendly town!
