Organisations Selected to Deliver Two Public Initiatives - Health Care and Health Promotion for Krosno Residents

Two calls for proposals concerning the implementation of health protection and promotion initiatives have been concluded. The initiatives will be carried out under the grant fund within Activity 5 of the project “Our Krosno: Green, Entreprising and Co-Governed with Residents”. Krosno residents will be able to benefit from new, free-of-charge activities supporting both physical and mental health.

The selected initiatives will include regular sports and recreational activities, as well as psychological consultations, workshops and measures designed to help residents cope more effectively with stress. PLN 190,000 has been allocated for the implementation of each initiative.

“Active Krosno” – Physical Activity and Health for Residents

The PK.TRAVEL.PL from Krosno was selected to implement the initiative entitled “Improving Residents’ Health through Participation in Various Forms of Physical Activity”. Its proposal, “Active Krosno – a Series of Sports and Recreational Activities for Residents”, received the highest score from the Evaluation Committee.

The project provides free activities in five disciplines: CrossFit, yoga, Zumba, Nordic walking and self-defence.

The activities will be led by qualified instructors and adapted to the participants’ age, health condition and level of physical fitness. Their purpose is to improve residents’ physical and mental well-being, promote an active lifestyle and increase access to regular physical activity regardless of participants’ financial situation. The initiative will be implemented from August to December 2026.

“Resilient to Stress” – Mental Health Support

The PRO-FIL Foundation for Social Psychoprophylaxis from Rzeszów was selected to implement the initiative entitled “Support in Coping with Stress”. Its proposal, “Resilient to Stress”, received the highest score from the Evaluation Committee.

The activities will be addressed to Krosno residents of different ages, including children and young people, working adults and senior citizens. Particular attention will be given to people exposed to chronic stress, emotional overload, loneliness and difficulties in everyday functioning.

The project will include, among other measures:

  • free psychological consultations;
  • stress-management training for working adults;
  • relaxation and psychoeducational activities for senior citizens;
  • workshops for children and young people focusing on emotions and psychological resilience;
  • an information and educational campaign on mental health and methods of coping with stress.

Residents will be able to receive support in crisis situations and in cases involving low mood, anxiety, chronic stress, family, parenting and school-related difficulties, as well as problems connected with loneliness and adapting to life changes.

The main objective of the project is to increase residents’ awareness of mental health prevention and to develop their ability to cope effectively with stress, emotional tension and the difficulties of everyday life. The initiative will directly reach approximately 1,500 residents of Krosno. In addition, all residents will be included in mental health promotion activities. The initiative will be implemented from August to December 2026.

Both initiatives form part of the health-promoting activities carried out under the project “Our Krosno: Green, Entreprising and Co-Governed with Residents”. Their shared objective is to improve residents’ quality of life by increasing access to physical activity, preventive health measures and professional psychological support.
