Classes in programming, robotics, ecology, entrepreneurship and mathematics, but also nature experiments and a science picnic. The undertaking was carried out as part of the first edition of classes for students of Krosno elementary schools under the title "Popularization of science among elementary school students." To conclude and sum up the First Edition of the classes, a Picnic was held on June 22, 2022 in the courtyard of the University's buildings at 8 Kazimierza Wielkiego Street for children who participated in the classes organized by the Carpathian State University in Krosno from March to June. Caregivers, parents and grandparents of the participants were also invited to the picnic.

During the Picnic, the weather was beautifully sunny, which allowed for the implementation of interesting outdoor workshops. Our academics organized 6 workshop booths thematically reflecting the 1st Edition of classes. These included workshops on programming, robotics, ecology, entrepreneurship, science experiments and mathematics. A scientific puzzle awaited the students at each booth, where they could test their knowledge and skills gained during the project's activities.

In addition to interesting challenges at the workshop booths, delicious refreshments were prepared for the Picnic participants.

The picnic was marked by fun, learning and a great atmosphere.

After the first stage came the next one. On October 17, 2022, the Second Edition of classes for students of Krosno elementary schools with as a part of the "Popularization of science among elementary school students" project was launched within the walls of the Carpathian State University in Krosno.

In the Second Edition of the classes, 7 groups were formed from among students of Krosno elementary schools, within 7 modules for two age categories:

Activities for students in grades 1-4:

• Experimental exploration of the world,
• Take up Maths and you’ll know!
• Programming&Robotics,
• One step forward to business.
  
  

Activities for students in grades 5-8:

• IT – programming,
• Eco-Technics,
• Entrepreneurial Wizard.
  
  

The general objectives of the implemented classes are to arouse technical interests and increase the soft skills of the participants/classes in the field of creativity, innovation, critical thinking, development of interests in computer science, mathematics and natural sciences.

The activities of the Second Edition will last until June 2023. A Family Picnic will also be held in June 2023, which will be a summary of the entire series of thematically different activities and at the same time will be an opportunity to meet, exchange experiences and deepen social ties and cooperation among those implementing the project, students participating in the activities and their parents.

Classes for Children “Popularization of science among elementary school students” are a part of the project "We Create + We Develop + We Activate + We Motivate + We Determine + We Change = KROSNO" implemented under the Local Development Program, co-financed 85% from the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014-2021 and 15% from the state budget.

The amount of funding received is 15,328,498.86 PLN. The beneficiary/lead partner is the Municipality of Krosno. The aim of the project is to comprehensively improve the quality of life in Krosno and better adapt Krosno's administration to the needs of its residents.
