Less than a week ago we hosted a group of young people with teachers from Norway in our city. Their visit was a part of the bilateral cooperation of Krosno and Øygarden Municipality in Norway.
Five students from Norwegian high schools and three teachers were paying a visit to Krosno in the period from February 18th to February 22nd 2024. Their visit presented a great opportunity to exchange experience and good practices in the scope of youth civic participation, improving standards of communication between local government and young communities, methods of activating youth and involving them in decision-making processes.

The Norwegian delegacy, together with a group of Krosno youth, as well as volunteers from the European Solidarity Corps from the Bureau of Artistic Exhibitions, took part in meetings and workshops held at the Krosno Youth Activity Center. Our visitors from Øygarden had an opportunity to visit the Centre of the Glass Heritage as well as the Ethnocentre of the Krosno Land.
Participants paid a visit to two schools: I Nicolaus Copernicus‘s High School with Bilingual Branches in Krosno and the Stanislaw Staszic’s Mechanical School Complex in Krosno. The goal of their visit was to make contact enabling future cooperation.
On Thursday (Feb, 22nd), on the last day of their visit, our visitors from Øygarden met with the Mayour of the City of Krosno, Mr. Piotr Przytocki and the Mayor Deputy Mr. Tomasz Soliński, for the purpose of summing up all the unforgettable impressions that Krosno made on them.

The event is a part of the project entitled “We create+We develop+We Activate+We motivate + We determine + We change =KROSNO” implemented as a part of the Local Development Program, co-financed in 85 % from the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014-2021 and in 15 % from the State Budget. “Together we work for a green, competitive and inclusive Europe”.
The amount of funding received is 17,365,786.37 PLN. The Municipality and City of Krosno is a beneficiary of the project. The goal of the project is to improve quality of life in Krosno and to provide better adjustment of the Krosno administrative bodies to the needs of its inhabitants.
