Last Thursday (December 14), another meeting of the Krosno Business Council took place. Entrepreneurs learned about the offer of the Guild of Various Crafts and discussed the promotion of Krosno.
The meeting was held in the historic "Zgoda" tenement house, the headquarters of the Guild of Various Crafts.
Marek Kiełtyka, the President of the Guild, presented the offer for entrepreneurs and residents of Krosno. He informed about activities in the field of vocational training for local labor market, especially crafts, and the declining interest of young people in acquiring vocational education. However, today's craftsmanship is different from stereotypes—it involves modern, attractive professions that utilize innovative solutions.
The Guild supports entrepreneurs in various ways, including the training of workers. Not only craftsmen but also entrepreneurs of any other field can join the organization. Recent events such as networking meetings for companies and craft workshops for residents, organized by the Guild as part of a project funded by Norwegian Funds, have gained significant interest.
Another agenda item focused on the "Krosno Glass City" brand, the promotion of Krosno, and activities related to the activation of the Old Town.
Entrepreneurs engaged in a lively discussion and proposed ideas for new initiatives or the continuation of previous years' activities:
CITY PROMOTION
- Oil as an element of the city's brand and promotion alongside glass.
- Organizing a large, cyclical St. Barbara's Day event.
- Developing cooperation with bloggers and promoting the City on social media for the best media effects.
- Promoting Krosno as an attractive place to live, which offers a high quality of life (including remote workers).
ACTIVITIES TO ENHANCE THE OLD TOWN HILL
- Creating an offer for the autumn-winter period, when the Market Square is empty:
- French carousel
- Ice rink
- Christmas market during every weekend in December
- Santa's village and New Year's Eve event.
- Lukasiewicz Pharmacy as a tourist attraction.
- Sandpit in the summer.
- Children's Day.
- Concerts on the Market Square.
This was the fourth meeting of the Krosno Business Council, established last December, according to Piotr Przytocki, the Mayor of Krosno. During these meetings, various proposals emerge, and each one is carefully listened to and analyzed. Events organized in the Market Square benefit from the collaboration of entrepreneurs and non-governmental organizations, making grassroots engagement crucial, adds the Mayor.
Members of the Krosno Business Council deserve immense thanks for all the feedback and proposals submitted during previous meetings, says Dr. Tomasz Soliński, Deputy Mayor. So far, many issues have been addressed, including working with entrepreneurs on restructuring the rules for property tax exemptions for investors. Thanks to these meetings with local businesses, we know and understand more about various aspects of running a business. I appreciate the commitment of Council members and invite them to continue collaborating, emphasizes Dr. Soliński.
