„Inhabitants of Krosno to Krosno inhabitants – workshop of traditions” - musical event
The Krosno Land Ethnocenter invites you to the musical conclusion of the first stage of the "Inhabitants of Krosno to Krosno inhabitants - a workshop of traditions" project on September 16 - 17, 2022.
The weekend will begin with a dance on Friday evening, two great folk bands will play to dance - Hop Kapela Szabasówka and Kapela Koronka from Bobowa!
Old polkas, shtayers, obereks, waltzes will sound.... The dance will be accompanied by refreshments.
Hop Kapela Szabasówka was established in 2019 as a result of the project "Szabasówka Bobowska School of Tradition." The band is made up of graduates of the Bobowa Music School, along with music teachers and folk musicians. The band plays music mainly from its region - the foothills, with a particular emphasis on old, partly forgotten melodies. The repertoire includes polkas, waltzes, western dance (walked). The band also reaches for Jewish, Hungarian, Lemko repertoire, and takes on so-called "wandering", "common melodies" that were performed in the areas of former Galicia.
Band Koronka from Bobowa operates at the Cultural Center in Bobowa, the band consists of children and young people and an instructor. On a daily basis, it accompanies the Children's Regional Song and Dance Ensemble Mała Koronka. Like the Hop, the Szabasówka Band was formed as a result of the "Szabasówka Bobowska School of Tradition" project.
Its repertoire consists mainly of traditional dances from the region, i.e. music from the foothills, as well as original regional dances such as haciok, drąg, drobny, polka mazurka, found only in the Gorlice region.

On Saturday, September 17, the Krosno Land Ethnocenter invites you to the Regional Center of Borderland Cultures for a wonderful evening with beautiful music performed by 13 extraordinary women - a concert of the Widymo band!
The group was founded in 2000 in Sanok, and has been introducing its audiences to the multicultural world of the Carpathian Mountains ever since - with old songs found and sung anew.
Widymo is invited both to international festivals of folk and ethnic music, as well as intimate performances in various spaces - museums, galleries and clubs. The band has performed at festivals such as "Culture of Rhythm" in Bielsko-Biala, at "Lemko Vatra" in Żdynia, at "Bieszczady Nights" in Szczecin, "Music in the Museum" in Warsaw, as well as at the Ukrainian "EtnoEvolution" in Kosmach or "Slovakiatour" in Bratislava. Widymo has sung for Radio Trójka in Muczne and for Radio Rzeszow.
Prior to the concert, at 6 p.m., Ewa Grochowska and Aleksandra Cieslik will perform along with participants of the singing workshops held at the Krosno Land Ethnocenter.

implemented under the Local Development Program, co-financed 85% from the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014-2021 and 15% from the state budget.

The beneficiary/lead partner is the Municipality of Krosno.
The aim of the project is to comprehensively improve the quality of life in Krosno
and better adapt Krosno's administration to the needs of its residents.
