The planned events to be organized by the National Academy of Applied Sciences in Krosno, as a part of the undertaking ‘Gain your experience and skills with KPU in Krosno’ and ‘Popularizing science among elementary school students’ in the project „We create + We develop + We Activate + We Stimulate + We Determine+ We change =KROSNO” – academic year 2022/2023 – IInd edition.

Organized events are held in two blocks on ventures:

I. Popularizing science among elementary school students

On October 17, 2022, the Second Edition of classes for students of Krosno elementary schools within the framework of the "Popularization of science among elementary school students" project was launched by the Carpathian State University in Krosno.

In the Second Edition of the classes, 7 groups were formed from among students of Krosno elementary schools, within 7 modules for two age categories:

• Classes for 1^st-4^th grade students:
• „Experimental learning about the world”,
• „Take up Maths and you’ll know!”,
• „Programming & Robotics”,
• „One step forward to learn about business”.
• Classes for 5th-8th grade students:
• „IT – programming”,
• „Eco-Technic”,
• „Business Creator”.

The general objectives of the implemented classes are to arouse technical interests and increase the soft skills of the participants/classes in the field of creativity, innovation, critical thinking, development of interests in computer science, mathematics and natural sciences.
The activities of the Second Edition will last until June 2023. A Family Picnic will also be held in June 2023, which will be a summary of the entire series of thematically different activities and at the same time will be an opportunity to meet, exchange experiences and deepen social ties and cooperation among those implementing the project, students participating in the activities and their parents.

II. Gain experience and skills with KPU in Krosno:

1. „Krosno e-sports tournament for the cup of the Rector of KPU in Krosno" (e-sports competition):
As part of the "Gain experience and skills with KPU in Krosno" project, students of the Krosno National Academy of Applied Sciences (from the Department of Computer Science and the Student Scientific Circles: Neo and Media) are organizing the fourth edition of the e-sports tournament entitled "Krosno e-sports tournament for the cup of the Rector of KPU/the National Academy of Applied Sciences in Krosno".

This is a tournament for teams of five in the game League of Legends with a prize pool worth more than 6,000 PLN. The tournament will last 8 days according to the schedule below:

• 23rd January – 10th February  – Signing in for the tournament
• 14th February – Opening of the Tournament on ZOOM
• 15th February – 21st February – Remote eliminations
• 24th February – stationary cup stage

Catering is provided for Participants during the cup stage.

2. RIDDLE ROOMS –Escape Room Competition– 3rd March, National Academy of Applied Sciences in Krosno, Dmochowskiego 12

Within the framework of the "Gain experience and skills with KPU in Krosno" project, a competition called RIDDLE ROOMS will be organized.

The competition will be held on March 3, 2023 and will begin at 8:30 am at the National Academy of Applied Sciences in Krosno, 12 Dmochowskiego Street (Krosno).

Goals of the Competition:

• developing logical thinking,
• developing teamwork skills,
• stimulating intelligence, speed of action and cleverness,
• promoting technical knowledge among young people.

The competition covers topics in the following fields: mathematics, chemistry, physics, economics, computer science.

The games will be held in 7 thematic rooms:

1. Construction
2. Automatics&Robotics
3. Energetics
4. Enviromental Engineering
5. IT
6. Management
7. Mechanics and Machine Construction

Refreshments will be provided for the Participants of the Competition.

3. Hackathon – 24th March, National Academy of Applied Sciences in Krosno, Wyspiańskiego 20

On March 24, 2022, the Hackathon Competition for students of Krosno high schools will be held at the University building at 20 Wyspiańskiego Street.

The Hackathon will be interdisciplinary in nature and is aimed at people interested in various fields, including technology, solving problems of the environment, modern media, et al.

The Hackathon is open to 10 teams of five people from Krosno high schools.
The subject matter of the Competition will be determined on the basis of a survey of residents, students and young people and shall take into account solving the problems of Krosno, such as spatial, environmental, social, etc. - announcement of the theme will be made on the day of the Competition.

There will be attractive prizes for the first three places for members of the winning teams.

The Hackathon event will include refreshments for the Participants.

4. COMPETITION FOR FUTURE ENGINEERS titled ‘ENGINEER OF 21^st century’ – 20^th April, National Academy of Applied Sciences in Krosno, Dmochowskiego 12

Within the framework of the project "Gain experience and skills with KPU in Krosno" a COMPETITION FOR FUTURE ENGINEERS is going to be organized under the title "ENGINEER of the XXI Century".

The competition will be conducted in the form of a test of technical knowledge and will cover issues at the level of engineering studies in mathematics, physics, chemistry, computer science and, in addition, issues in technology in its broadest sense, from the history of inventions to modern developments in this field.

Attractive prizes are provided for the first three places.

The Competition will include refreshments for the Participants.

5. Energetics Competition – 21st April, National Academy of Applied Sciences in Krosno, Dmochowskiego 12

As part of the "Gain experience and skills with KPU in Krosno" project, an ENERGETICS COMPETITION is being organized.

The Competition is aimed at students of Krosno high schools and will be held on April 21, 2022, in the building of the National Academy of Applied Sciences of the University of Krosno, 12 Dmochowskiego Street, Hall 2 (Krosno).

The Competition, in the form of a test, will cover issues at the high school level in the field of energy, including renewable energy sources, mechanics and issues in the broader field of technology.

Attractive prizes are provided for the first five places.

The Competition will include refreshments for the participants, as well as a scientific lecture on topics related to power engineering.

The project „We create+ We develop+ We activate+ We motivate+ We determine+ We change= KROSNO” implemented as a part of the Local Development Programme, co-financed in 85 % from the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014-2021 and in 15 % from the State Budget.
