April 20, 2024 proved to be a special day for the Kogel Mogel Association. On that day, the organization's idea - we positively and creatively support local communities - took on a new meaning.
Celebrating together is one of the most important pieces of the puzzle, to which the Kogel Mogel Association invited the residents of Krosno, implementing the project titled “Community Organizing in the city of Krosno”. The city picnic, attended by entire families, summarized 14 months of teamwork between community organizers and locals on 10 initiatives.
What pleases me most is that these activities were diverse. Residents had the opportunity to prove themselves both as originators, creators and coordinators. “They called meetings, discussed various matters, set their priorities, developed strategies, negotiated and led their initiatives with successes but also failures,” says Anna Zielinski, a Krosno-based community organizer.
Working together, the residents gained a lot of competencies and experiences that certainly made them realize how much influence they have on their immediate surroundings,” notes the other Krosno community organizer, Marcin Reman.
The event was held at the Local Activity Center in Krosno. This day had to be as busy as the whole last year of the venture. The organizers invited both children and adults to take part in a wide range of manual family workshops. Together they were braiding strings, planting plants, screwing in screws, squeezing fruits, formulating soaps or painting cardboard houses. Everything took place in a cafe atmosphere, with the sound of music and the sun rays peeking through the windows.
The event is a part of the project entitled “We create+We develop+We Activate+We motivate + We determine + We change =KROSNO” implemented as a part of the Local Development Program, co-financed in 85 % from the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014-2021 and in 15 % from the State Budget.
“Together we work for a green, competitive and inclusive Europe”
The amount of funding received is 17,365,786.37 PLN. The Municipality and City of Krosno is a beneficiary of the project. The goal of the project is to improve quality of life in Krosno and to provide better adjustment of the Krosno administrative bodies to the needs of its inhabitants.
